This one belongs to Harry Bosch.
Growing up in MacLaren's Children's Center - a notorious care facility - Bosch had a friend. Together, they survived the dangers of that awful place.
Until one night, when his friend was placed in the illegal confinement space they called 'The Hollow'. And in the morning, he was found dead.
Bosch always suspected a cover-up, but as the case brings back old ghosts, he realises it was the murder that made him who he became.
As Bosch digs into the files, he finds the trace of a predator who was forged in the fires of the hell he once called home.
Facing the history that haunts him, Bosch will become consumed by the case. But with a case this personal, there is a fine line between justice and revenge...
