#SUPERTHURSDAY

What is Super Thursday?

The term 'Super Thursday' was coined by The Bookseller magazine in the UK back in 2008. Super Thursday was initially a technical term used within the book industry in reference to the bigger publishing days (that fell on Thursdays) in the run up to Christmas. On these big publishing days: dozens, if not hundreds of new releases would hit the shelves all at once on the same Thursday. Hence... the term Super Thursday was born.

Nowadays, the term is more well-known and still refers to those big Thursday releases that start hitting shelves from September onwards. It's a great time to pick up hot-off-the-press reads and some of the most hotly anticipated titles of year as authors and publishers compete for the highly coveted Christmas No.1 spot.
